Thanks to Kavon for knocking out a pro edit in one day, such a boss. So proud to have been a part of this event. Thanks to all the sponsors that made sure all the skaters walked away with rad swag. The weather wasn’t perfect, but it couldn’t have gone any better. We are a family and have to take care of each other. This event was the best possible example of that. People drove over 10+ hrs to a secret location in Oklahoma for some dope racing this past weekend. We miss you Jason, hope to have you back in our state soon. Love you homie.

The fastest outlaw to date is coming up this weekend in Oklahoma. It is an invite only event with rippers driving in from out of state. Part of the entry fees are going to Jason who was seriously injured during the filming of the promo. Jason Machado is always charging so hard, this run is just an example of that. Kavon busted out an insanely sick edit tracking Jason’s speed down the run (link at the bottom). We were all hitting mid to upper 40’s when Jason decided to do a run by himself. I have him the GPS and he pulled a 50.3mph run. The fastest section being the third turn (a lefty). He is ripping on the new BC Longboards Torpedo. Props to GHoov for ripping as the follow driver.

After riding both sets of the new REY trucks I thought it was time to break down the differences between the two killer, Michigan made, affordable precision trucks.
We’ll start with how the two are setup for context of this review. Both have 45º basplates (one is the new REYvolver baseplate), 170mm hangers, 10mm axels, flat precision washers and barrel Venom bushings (80a roadside/88a boardside).
Next lets talk weight. Some people like more weight carrying them down the hill, while others are looking to keep their truck setup as light as possible. Weight breakdowns:
LiteREY hanger: 270g + LiteREY baseplate: 220g = 490g
DeathREY hanger: 258g + REYvolver baseplate: 156g = 314g
That’s a difference of 176 grams, which isn’t a lot, but if you are looking for any way to take weight off the DeathREY and REYvolver combination is much lighter than the LiteREY.
The weight was shaved off the hanger by cutting holes in it as well as taking off edges around the hanger. Also the DeathREY is not as wide or tall. You’ll notice that the axels on the DeathREY are higher and therefore closer to the baseplate giving them a lower profile. The bushing seats are also different. The LiteREY has a wider opening for mean lean, while the DeathREY has a narrower opening for more stability and a bit less turn.
When comparing the baseplates you can see a few changes right away. Again it is lower all the way around. Material was shaved away creating a larger opening between the pivot cup and kingpin. The new REYvolver also has more wheel base options and the most striking feature is that it looks like a revolver. REY has taken CNC cutting to an art form.
What does this all add up to? Depending on what type of riding you do REY has something to offer. Their new DeathREY hanger in combination with the REYvolver baseplate is super light and a fantastic combination for going fast. The LiteREY is also a great truck with mean lean but a bit beefier. They do not cut corners with quality or craftsmanship, only price. They want every rider to be able to ride their product, not just for wealthy and sponsored. With the Marble Outlaw coming up we decided to film a little promo vid. It was a really fast day with a nice tailwind. Marble is one of our classic runs that we hit on Boarder Crossing trips. It’s about 1.5mile run for almost 2 minutes (depending on where we put the start and finish). It’s got delicious black pave and curves for days. We’ve decided it’s time to have an Outlaw there and let others enjoy this hidden gem in East Oklahoma.
It has about 480feet of elevation change with the grade getting up to almost 11%. I’m not sure of the speeds yet, but any where from 30 at the top to 40 at the bottom. We plan on doing 4-6 man heats depending on how many show.
Obviously safety is a must, some peeps will probably be leather’d out, but you don’t have to have them. I’ll be posting things like maps and best place to park later on, but this is out in the middle of no where, so shouldn’t be too big of a problem. I’ve skated there for hours and never seen a car, it’s definitely back woods style. Hope we can get a lot of people out there and have another sick race in Oklahoma! GET STOKED!

No names. Ripping on a chill weekday. Afterwards we went for a drift sess in the Sub on a private road. The owner chased us in his truck and then tried to punch the driver. We drove away just in time so he wasn’t able to get to us and punched the back window instead, no damage done. This 6ft tall country hick looked like he was going to kill us.
