Peeop a raw run of Jason Machado & Matt Ewalt ripping down a NoCoast classic. Stoked to hit it next week at the Chaos In The Country Outlaw, should be dope as mates!
Thanks to Kavon for knocking out a pro edit in one day, such a boss. So proud to have been a part of this event. Thanks to all the sponsors that made sure all the skaters walked away with rad swag. The weather wasn’t perfect, but it couldn’t have gone any better. We are a family and have to take care of each other. This event was the best possible example of that. People drove over 10+ hrs to a secret location in Oklahoma for some dope racing this past weekend. We miss you Jason, hope to have you back in our state soon. Love you homie.
The fastest outlaw to date is coming up this weekend in Oklahoma. It is an invite only event with rippers driving in from out of state. Part of the entry fees are going to Jason who was seriously injured during the filming of the promo. Jason Machado is always charging so hard, this run is just an example of that. Kavon busted out an insanely sick edit tracking Jason’s speed down the run (link at the bottom). We were all hitting mid to upper 40’s when Jason decided to do a run by himself. I have him the GPS and he pulled a 50.3mph run. The fastest section being the third turn (a lefty). He is ripping on the new BC Longboards Torpedo. Props to GHoov for ripping as the follow driver.

Two weeks ago my best friend Jason Machado was in a terrible accident while we were filming the promo for our Marble Outlaw. For the respect of him and his family I hadn’t posted anything about it.
Easter Sunday:
We were using spotters all day as well as the riders having a walkie talkie on us so we can hear if a car was coming up the run. After gettting multiple follow runs we picked up our spotter and decided to take another run with everyone. Jason and I were skating with the dslr. I passed it to him halfway down the run. When we got to Marble Corner (one in which you exit far into the other lane) I was out front and saw a car coming in the other lane. I threw a predrift to stay in my lane. Jason wasn’t able to react soon enough and hit the car head on at 45mph. Jason is a seasoned rider and the last person I thought this would happen to. He suffered a broken femur, pelvis, broke most of the ribs on his left side and had a bad concussion. He had to be flown out by helicopter and is now recovering in a local hospital.
Skating all of the sudden became very serious that day. I’ll never forget the sound of the car hitting a person that hard. We were blessed to have an RN there skating with us, one of our other best friends. He was able to stabilize him until EMS got there. Without him I don’t know how we would’ve helped.
Jason brought his rad surfing style to Oklahoma and is largely responsible for where the Oklahoma skate scene is. OG gets thrown around a lot these days, but if there is a rad spot in Oklahoma, this dude was one of the first to hit it. Everyone loves skating with this dude, he makes you rider better and push your self further. Whether he ever wants to get on a board and go fast or just chill at skate parks won’t matter to us, we are just stoked that he made it through this accident.
What was a rad day of skating and filming quickly turned into a worst case scenario. So far all signs point to Jason being able to make a full recovery. However it is going to be a long road and he can use all the positive thoughts you can send his way. If you feel the need to donate money to what will be a laundry list of medical bills, his sponsor BC Longboards has set up a page where you can donate to help make it a little easier on him (Pay Pal link at the bottom). We have also turned the Marble Outlaw into an invitation only event, The Machado Classic, where all the entry fees will be given to Jason as well.
This incident has made me do a lot of thinking. Seeing your best friend like that will change you. If it doesn’t than you’re not being real with yourself. Skating open roads has a high risk. The reward is great when you get to the bottom of a run, but make sure you do it with spotters, no matter what. We thought that since we hadn’t seen a car all day in that corner that we could hit it and have no worries. We were wrong, in 5 seconds everything changed. Make sure you ride to skate another day. Heal fast brother.

Enjoy a raw run with BC riders, Jason Machado & Kyle Ramsey, down a fast one. It’s one of those runs that definitely gets your adrenaline going. Could be the pavement changes that bounce your board around at 50mph for 5 min, the sharp jagged rocks that line the road, the guardrail that keeps you from falling hundreds of feet onto more jagged rocks, people walking in the opposite lane down the run, or the multiple blind corners. This mountain run does not allow for too many mistakes, yet still one of my all time favorite places to skate.

Thanks to local Gnarkansas rider Matt Ewalt, for showing us some of his local gems. This was by far fastest run of this Boarder Crossings trip with a tight, blind left-hand turn requiring a predrift. Then you basically have to shut down before some really bad pavement. Enjoy a drop with Jason Machado & Josh Hughes from BC Longboards & Matt Ewalt from F-Town.
